3-way linking, reciprocal linking, article spinning

Since this is the black hat SEO forum, what do you guys think of 3-way linking, reciprocal links and article spinning?
As far as I\'m concerned, these are kind of gray hat, that is questionable SEO methods, neither black nor white. They are practically gray until you get caught though: at that point they will become black hat.
If you get carried away by \"overdoing\" gray hat methods, the search engines might penalize your site (loose ranking and such). But if you are careful, gray hat can work.
